KERACON 2026 – HOTEL BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

The following terms and conditions govern all hotel reservations made through the official conference secretariat in the CSI website for KERACON 2026, Kochi (04–06 December 2026).

1. Official Hotel List – Within 2-5 km RadiusAll hotels shortlisted for KERACON 2026 accommodation are:

  • Selected to provide minimal travel time and maximum convenience for all attendees
  • Located within 5 – 10 minutes’ drive to both conference venue and Cochin International Airport (CIAL)
  • Since all hotels are close to CIAL airport and wedding season period, the demand for hotels is very High

2. Conference Stay Period (3 nights)

  • Check-in Date: 3rd December 2026
  • Check-out Date: 6th December 2026

3. Standard Hotel Timings

  • Check-in Time: 02:00 PM
  • Check-out Time: 12:00 Noon

Early check-in or late check-out requests are subject to availability, discretion of hotel management and may attract additional charges as per the respective hotel’s policy.

4. Official Conference Hotel

  • Delegates must select their accommodation preference from the available options in the enclosed list.

5. Hotel Tariff InclusionsThe hotel tariff offered under the official KERACON 2026 accommodation package is inclusive of the following:

  • Daily Breakfast at the hotel
  • All applicable taxes
  • Airport shuttle transfers from Cochin International Airport (CIAL) (arrival and departure)
  • Daily shuttle transfers between the hotel and the conference venue as per conference time only

No additional charges will be levied for the above-mentioned services.

ExclusionsThe following are not included in the tariff:

  • Personal expenses (mini bar, room service, laundry, etc.)
  • Meals other than breakfast in the hotel
  • Any additional services availed directly at the hotel

6. Payment Terms

  • 100% advance payment is mandatory to confirm any hotel booking.
  • Bookings will be confirmed only after receipt of full payment.
  • Part payments or provisional bookings will not be accepted.

7. Booking Deadline

  • Last date for hotel booking: 14th July 2026

Any requests received after this date will be considered strictly subject to availability and revised rates.

8. Room Allotment Policy

  • Rooms will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of full payment.
  • Limited rooms are available in each hotel category as per the enclosed hotel list.
  • Once rooms in a selected hotel are fully booked, alternate hotels from the list will be offered.
  • Limited no of twin-bedded rooms in each hotel, room allotment to subject to availability during check-in

9. Occupancy Options

  • Single / Double occupancy rooms are also available subject to availability.
  • Twin-sharing booking option is available for delegates.

10. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • 50% refund will be applicable for cancellations received on or before 14th July 2026.
  • No refund will be applicable for cancellations received after 1st August 2026.
  • All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to the conference secretariat.

11. Transfers IncludedAll confirmed hotel bookings will include:

  • Airport shuttle transfers (arrival and departure)
  • Daily shuttle transfers between hotel and conference venue as per conference time

Transfer schedules will be shared with attendee closer to the conference dates.

12. Amendments & Modifications

  • Any change in hotel preference, room type, or occupancy is subject to availability and may involve additional charges.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to modify hotel allotments in case of unforeseen circumstances or overbooking situations.

13. General Conditions

  • All bookings must be made exclusively through the official KERACON 2026 Conference Secretariat and website.
  • The conference secretariat is not responsible for incidental expenses, personal charges, or damages incurred at the hotel.
  • Delegates must present valid photo identification at the time of check-in as per hotel regulations.

14. Acceptance of TermsBy proceeding with hotel booking, the delegate agrees to abide by all the above terms and conditions.

Invitation for Instruction Course Submissions at KERACON 2026

Click here to submit: https://form.jotform.com/260704388029460 Dear CSI Members, Following the overwhelming response to the Instruction Courses at last KERACON, we are excited to announce the return of this feature at KERACON 2026. These courses provide a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and expertise on a wide range of topics relevant to current clinical practice. We invite you to submit your proposals for the Instruction Courses, which are designed to foster engagement and learning among our members. A total of 27 courses, each 60 minutes long, will be conducted.
Guidelines for Instruction Course Submissions 1. Course Structure:
  • Each course will be 60 minutes in duration.
  • The format should include 40 minutes of presentations followed by 20 minutes of interactive discussion.
2. Course Content:
  • Courses should be structured to cover the topic comprehensively.
  • Presentations must be formatted for clear and effective teaching.
  • Allow ample time for audience interaction and Q&A.
3. Submission Limits:
  • Each member may submit only one course as the chief instructor.
  • A member may participate as a co-instructor in up to two additional courses.
4. Instructor Requirements:
  • Chief instructor to be a Cornea Society of India member for 3 years.
  • One person Maximum 2 IC as chief instructor and/or as co-instructor.
5. Submission Process:
  • All submissions must be made online via the CSI website.
  • Please use the prescribed submission format available on the CSI webpage.

1. Penetrating Keratoplasty
  • Therapeutic Penetrating Keratoplasty: Decision-making, surgical planning, and techniques for therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty.
  • Optical Penetrating Keratoplasty: Techniques for optical penetrating keratoplasty, often in combination with other procedures.
  • Post-Keratoplasty Astigmatism Management: Surgical tips to reduce post-keratoplasty astigmatism, various management strategies to address post-keratoplasty astigmatism.
2. Lamellar and Endothelial Keratoplasty Techniques
  • Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty: Indications, surgical techniques (including DALK), and postoperative management of ALK.
  • DSEK: Decision-making, surgical planning, and techniques for DSEK.
  • DMEK: Decision-making, surgical planning, and techniques for DMEK.
3. Corneal Ectasia: Advanced Interventions
  • Beyond conventional crosslinking in corneal ectasia: Various clinical applications and techniques of collagen crosslinking beyond the traditional Dresden protocol.
  • CAIRS: Patient selection, donor tissue preparation, surgical techniques, postoperative management in keratoconus and related corneal ectatic conditions.
  • Stromal Augmentation for Corneal Ectasia: Techniques such as Bowman’s layer transplant and lenticule insertion for managing corneal ectasia.
4. Corneal Perforations and Acute Ocular Surface Emergencies
  • Corneal Perforations: Diagnosis and surgical management of corneal perforations, addressing both emergency and elective interventions with emphasis on preserving globe integrity and restoring visual function.
  • Acute Ocular Surface Emergencies: Ocular surface burns (chemical/thermal), Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS), and other acute ocular surface emergencies – diagnosis, staging and management protocols.
5. Infective Keratitis and Microbiological Applications
  • Infective Keratitis – Viral Keratitis: Evidence-based approaches to the diagnosis and management of viral keratitis.
  • Infective Keratitis (Other than Viral Keratitis): Updates on the current understanding and management of bacterial, fungal, and acanthamoeba keratitis.
  • Microbiology & Pathology Applications in Cornea: Role of microbiology and pathology in corneal diseases, focusing on the diagnosis, pathogenesis, and management of infectious and non-infectious corneal conditions.
6. Cataract Surgery and Contact Lens Management in Corneal Disorders
  • Complex Cataract Surgery in Corneal Disorders: Techniques and considerations for performing cataract surgery in patients with various corneal disorders.
  • Contact Lenses: Fitting guidelines for various contact lenses and their use in managing corneal and ocular surface disorders.
7. Refractive surgery
  • Lasik and other ablative procedures: LASIK, PRK and other procedures, indications, and outcomes, tips for safe surgery.
  • Keratolenticule extraction: Surgical technique, advantages, indications and outcomes.
  • Complications, retreatments and sequelae: Identifying and treatment of complications, indications for retreatment, factors that decide on preferred mode of re-treatment.
8. Keratopigmentation
  • Keratopigmentation: Principles and techniques of keratopigmentation for therapeutic and cosmetic indications.
9. Professional Practice and Clinical Media Documentation
  • Ethical Use of Social Media in Clinical Practice: Best practices for using various social media platforms for clinical practice and marketing while adhering to ethical standards.
  • Photo & Video Recording/Editing: Techniques for ophthalmic photography and video recording, including equipment and best practices.
10. Ocular Surface Disorders and Reconstruction
  • Ocular Surface Neoplasia: Clinical presentations, diagnosis, medical and surgical management of ocular surface tumors.
  • Surface Reconstruction: Principles and surgical techniques of ocular surface reconstruction, including amniotic membrane transplantation, limbal stem cell transplantation, and mucosal grafting.
  • Keratoprosthesis & Artificial cornea: In-depth overview of keratoprosthesis, including indications, patient selection, and surgical techniques.
11. Miscellaneous
  • Miscellaneous: IC on any other topic that is relevant, but not included in the list.

  • Name or Institutional affiliation should not be disclosed in the video abstract, as all abstracts will be judged anonymously.
  • Abstract Submission deadline is 30th April 2026.
  • Abstracts selection will be subject to a peer review by independent experts.
  • Authors will be notified of acceptance by email.

Photo Contest Submission

Digital photographs, minimum acceptable size of each digital image is 1920×1080 pixels / 300 dpi.

  • Deadline: All entries must be received by 1st May 2026 | 10:00 AM
  • Eligibility: Presenting author must be member of Cornea Society of India.
  • Images that have earned recognition or been displayed in other juried exhibits are not eligible for entry.
  • Releases: Photographs revealing patient identity must be accompanied by a typewritten, signed, and witnessed photographic release.
  • Number of entries: No more than four (4) entries per person, maximum of one (1) per category will be accepted.
  • Image Quality: Images which have obvious defects (poor focus, color imbalance, improper exposure, or significant artifacts) will not be accepted for judging.
Format:
  • Photomontages (multiple prints affixed to each other) will not be accepted.
  • Digital photographs, minimum acceptable size of each digital image is 1920×1080 pixels.
Category Details:
  • 1. Slit Lamp (SL): Images produced with a photo slit lamp biomicroscope
  • 2. External (Ex): Photographs of the outside of the eye, face or other appropriate anatomy, which do not qualify for the slit lamp biomicrography category
  • 3. Surgical (SG): Images produced in a surgical environment demonstrating a surgical technique or procedure
  • 4. Diagnostic (DA): Images from various corneal diagnostic devices – topography / specular microscope / OCT / Confocal microscope / Microbiology / Histopathology etc
  • 5. Eye as Art (EA): Be creative. Use your imagination.
